We LOVE when dads get involved. The kids always enjoy having you around at school events and in the classrooms! We want to invite you to come learn more about the Watch D.O.G.S. program and meet other fellow comrades who want to support the school too! Join us for dinner on Tuesday Sept 12th at 6:00PM for pizza with your son(s) and/or daughter(s). If I haven't lost you yet you're welcome to keep reading about the program below BUT we will talk about it on Tuesday too so no pressure to study beforehand! See you all there!!!
WATCH D.O.G.S. (Dads Of Great Students) is an innovative father involvement, educational initiative of the National Center For Fathering. There are two primary goals of the WATCH D.O.G.S. program: 1) To provide positive male role models for the students, demonstrating by their presence that education is important. 2) To provide extra sets of eyes and ears to enhance school security and reduce bullying. Who Are Watch D.O.G.S.? Watch D.O.G.S. are fathers, grandfathers, uncles, and other father-figures who volunteer during the school year at their child's/student's school. Watch D.O.G.S. volunteers perform a variety of tasks during their volunteer time including helping in the classroom with a teacher’s guidance, eat lunch with students, watch the school entrances and hallways during events, assist with traffic flow and any other assigned activities where they actively engage with not only their own students, but other students as well. |
